In Þingvellir - A Walk along Memory Lane Hildur Petersen and Anna Bjarnadóttir take a stroll to their favourite places in Iceland’s first National Park and World Heritage Site. On the way they recall personal memories, historical facts and geological happenings. Anna’s parents play a role. Bjarni Benediktsson was Prime Minister when he lost his life along with his wife and four year old grandson in a fire at Þingvellir in 1970. The walk in this unusual guidebook goes past a Memorial raised in their memory.
Hildur and Anna love Þingvellir. Its magic also catches the imagination of the Swiss artist Karin Kurzmeyer. Her illustrations make the booklet, published by Hundahólmi, a little gem.
The booklet is printed by Oddi, Reykjavík, Iceland. Karin took care of the layout.
